Description
Strategic Spelling is a whole school spelling program that supports the principles outlined in the First Steps spelling materials.
The program develops spelling strategies through explicit teaching activities. Weekly spelling routines allow students to take responsibility for their own spelling development.
The Teacher's Resource Books:
- provide details about establishing the weekly spelling routine in the classroom
- include 30 thematic spelling skills blackline masters based on 16 popular themes taught in primary classrooms
- provide activities to assess students' spelling strategies, phonic knowledge and sight word vocabulary
- include spelling games to reinforce spelling strategies.
