WHAT WE DO
Every day our products help teachers teach and students
learn in thousands of primary and secondary schools around
Australia. From coursebooks and teacher guides to computer-based and
online programs, we help people realise the power of education in
thousands of ways.
|
We publish some of the most widely used textbooks and other resources for
curriculum areas like Literacy, Science, Mathematics, Geography, History and
LOTE.
We continue to lead the industry by producing resource packages that directly
support teachers in the classroom.
Pearson Australia was the first to produce companion websites and
other electronic content in support of new student resources. We are also the
first to release tailored electronic content designed specifically for use on
Interactive White Boards.
We recognise that publishing books is only part of the solution for a classroom
and we provide a level of service and support that you cannot find with other
publishers.
HOW
WE DO IT
We work with hundreds of
authors, governments and schools to create products that are based
on extensive research and reflect the latest teaching trends. We
recognise that teaching is a challenging occupation and that
teachers must achieve educational outcomes for students while
meeting significant reporting and administrative demands and we
produce our material accordingly.

| The Primary team publishes resources for students and teachers in the early,
middle and upper primary years with a particular emphasis upon literacy,
mathematics, science and the social sciences. Recent publishing includes the
successful literacy series Brain Bank, Snapshots, Inquizitive,
Chatterbox and VoiceWorks. Inaddition we offer perhaps the most
extensive range of student activity books in the country. We have established a
vibrant and growing export market, with Australian classroom resources being
sold to New Zealand, the USA, Canada, the UK and South East Asia.
|
 |
The Secondary team publishes a broad range of print and electronic resources
across most Key Learning Areas. Mathematics, Science, LOTE and Studies of
Society and the Environment are particular strengths. We focus on coursebooks
and series written by local authors to meet specific curricula and the latest
educational initiatives. With a commitment to addressing the use of technology
in Australian schools, the Secondary unit supports printed resources with
innovative electronic supplements that include ebooks, Companion Websites™, CDs
and, most recently, Course Compass course manager software customised for each
book.
