Pearson Australia is pleased to announce the winner of the Teacher Educator of the Year Award for 2009 is Dr Rosie Le Cornu of University of South Australia. Rosie was presented with a prize of $3,000 and a plaque at the ATEA Conference Dinner in June 2009.

The judges, selected by the ATEA Executive, had a difficult task in selecting a winning candidate from the high quality nominations received. However, they felt that Rosie’s contributions to teacher education were outstanding and he was very deserving of this year’s award.

This award, aimed at encouraging and recognising innovative teaching practices in Teacher Education, recognises outstanding contributions to teaching in terms of:

  • Interest and enthusiasm for teaching
  • Promoting student learning
  • Imaginative presentation of course materials
  • Command of the subject matter
  • Participation in professional activities and research relating to teaching

Pearson would like to congratulate Rosie and thank all those academics who participated in the 2009 award. We would also like to thank the judges for the time and effort given in selecting the winner.

The Pearson ATEA Teacher Educator of the Year Award will be offered again in 2010. For more information please contact:
