Pearson Australia congratulates the winners of the 2009 Pearson ANZMAC awards! Dr Robert Aitken of the Department of Marketing, University of Otago won the Emerging award, while the Distinguished award was taken out by Dr. Francis Farrelly of the Department of Marketing, Monash University. Both winners were presented their awards and prize money of $2,000 each at the ANZMAC Conference held in Melbourne, December 2009.
In 2002, Pearson Australia, with the endorsement of the ANZMAC Executive, developed the concept of an award for excellence in teaching as a means of recognition and reward for those displaying innovative approaches to teaching marketing, and as a way of furthering our support and partnership with marketing academics. The judging panel, selected by the ANZMAC Executive, was chaired by Professor Ian Wilkinson from the University of New South Wales.

2004 - Troy Heffernan of Charles Sturt University
2005 - Dr Glenn Pearce of University of Western Sydney
2006 - Dr Catherine Sutton-Brady of The University of Sydney
2007 – Dr Angela Paladino of The University of Melbourne
2008 – Associate Professor Suzan Burton of Macquarie University
In August of each year, marketing educators around the country are contacted and
asked to nominate a lecturer who has demonstrated excellence and a significant
contribution in one or more of the following areas:

Lecturing
-
Tutoring
-
Student Support
-
Development of quality teaching materials – texts, websites, course materials
and software.
Pearson Australia would like to congratulate Robert Aitken and Francis Farrelly, and thank all those academics who participated in the 2009 award. We would also like to thank the judges for their time and effort involved in selecting the winner.
The Pearson ANZMAC Emerging Marketing Educator of the Year Award and the Pearson ANZMAC Distinguished Marketing Educator of the Year Award will be offered again in 2010.
